Toxic ingredients in food and beverages are a very real threat to the health and well-being of people today. Legislation has to be enacted in the United States which forces food manufacturers to follow strict regulations by adding warning labels to all food and beverage products containing ingredients known to be toxic to the human body and that lead to obesity and several other crippling lifestyle diseases. They would also be required to provide guidelines for healthy, age-appropriate consumption of their products. Food companies should be held accountable for the ingredients in their products, and be forced to reformulate their food products and provide healthier choices for consumers.
The Institute is a comfortable learning environment with a broad collection of health and fitness systems, offering a series of lecturers and training seminars. HHF focuses on mind-body interactions, spiritual healing, cross cultural perspectives on health, birthing and dying, theoretical frameworks of non-conventional healing approaches and natural forms of nutrition. All the Holistic Health Foundation programs emphasize the inherent healing capacity of people brought out through specific healing methods and skills in the context of holistic principles. Founder Michael Torchia has a special interest in HHF’s goals. His mother, a type-2 diabetic for most of her life, also had a malfunctioning heart valve from birth. After age 80, she began having congestive heart failure attacks a few times a year, andMichael would fly out to Atlanta to help her. She would always recover quickly and return to her normal life.
Then, his mother had a massive heart attack. He again flew to Atlanta to help with her recovery. She was put into a prestigious cardiac care center in Buckhead, GA. The doctors told him her body was failing and suggested a hospice for her last days. But Michael refused to give up. He changed her diet, her physical therapy, and even her environment to stimulate her body and mind, and her improvement was so dramatic, even the doctors were impressed. She was off her meds and was ready to go home that next week. But, because he could not oversee her care after he returned to Los Angeles, her health quickly declined. The hospital doctors quickly returned her to the original regime of “standard practices,” and even strapped her down and sedated her to make her more compliant. She died on November 4th, 2007 from neglect, mistreatment and lack of proper care. Michael is passionate about spreading the news on holistic healing and dedicates this Foundation to his mother, Jean Torchia.
HHF is staffed and operated by leading health experts and renowned clinical professors, who research and develop holistic health formulations and exercise systems, and is positioned for future development in valued partnerships with other health organizations.
